Product Design
THE PRODUCT DESIGN ARTIFACTS WERE CREATED FOR TWO DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS TO DISPLAY THEIR BRANDING. THE FIRST SET OF ARTIFACTS WERE ESTABLISHED FOR THE SIERRA NEVADA BRAND TO SHOWCASE THE REBRANDING OF THEIR ORIGINAL PACKAGING. THE SIERRA NEVADA BRAND HAS BREWERIES IN CHICO, CALIFORNIA AND ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA AND MY GOAL WAS TO INTRODUCE THE NEW PACKAGING TO THE MARKET THAT WAS FUN AND COLORFUL LIKE THE BRAND. THE SECOND SET OF ARTIFACTS WERE CREATED FOR THE RED BULL BRAND FOR THEIR DRAGONS BLOOD CAMPAIGN. I WANTED THESE CANS TO REFLECT THE BRANDING OF THEIR OTHER PACKAGING BUT, ALSO MAKE THE PACKAGING EXCITING AND FUN FOR THE AUDIENCE. THE VISUAL ELEMENTS OF BLOOD SPOTS AND DEEP COLORS ADDED TO THE CANS CREATE A MYSTICAL FEELING THAT RELATES THE BRAND. THE RHETORICAL CONTEXT OF THE NEW PRODUCT DESIGN IS THAT IT INTRIGUES THE AUDIENCE BECAUSE IT IS NEW, EXCITING, AND FUN.  I CHOSE TO INCLUDE COLORS AND SYMBOLISM THAT WERE GEARED TOWARD MALES AND FEMALES, AS WELL AS ALL NATIONALITIES TO CREATE COHESIVE MESSAGING THAT IS ETHICAL. AN IMPERATIVE SEGMENT OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IS VISUAL DESIGN AND THE CAPABILITY TO CREATE ENGAGING CONTENT. BY DESIGNING THE PACKAGING TO PROMOTE THE “GOODS” OF EACH BRAND, THE AUDIENCE IS CAPTURED IN, AND THE PACKAGING BECOMES MEMORABLE. CREATIVE DESIGN HAS ALWAYS BEEN A HUGE PASSION TO ME AND GAINING THE SKILLS IN ADOBE CONTRIBUTED TO ME BEING SUCCESSFUL IN THESE DESIGNS.
